TEARDROP ANTIQUE 45cm Bar Spoon [MEZCLAR] – Vintage Style, Professional Control

Sometimes, a bar's personality is revealed in the smallest details. The TEARDROP ANTIQUE 45cm Bar Spoon [MEZCLAR] combines an antique brass appearance with the extended length needed for stirring cocktails in deep vessels. Its teardrop-shaped end completes the design, while the twisted shaft facilitates smooth, controlled movements.

Why Choose a 45cm Bar Spoon?

The 45cm length provides easy reach into deep mixing glasses, tall drinking glasses and carafes, where a shorter spoon may be awkward to use. It is particularly useful for cocktails prepared using the STIR technique, where ingredients are stirred with ice to achieve controlled chilling and dilution.

The twisted shaft helps the spoon rotate between your fingers while following the inside wall of the mixing vessel. Consistent movements minimise unnecessary agitation.

What Is the Purpose of the TEARDROP End?

The teardrop-shaped end is a distinctive feature of this model and provides a point of grip during handling. Unlike a bar spoon with a flat disc or muddler end, it is not designed for forcefully crushing ingredients.

ANTIQUE BRASS Finish – Character for Your Bar Station

The antique brass appearance adds a classic touch, ideal for vintage, industrial or speakeasy-inspired bars. This spoon complements other antique-finish metal bar accessories without compromising its primary stirring function.

Two Cocktails Made Using the STIR Technique

1. Manhattan: Add 50ml rye whiskey or bourbon, 20ml sweet red vermouth and 2 dashes of aromatic bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently with the TEARDROP spoon until sufficiently chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with a cocktail cherry.

2. Negroni: Combine 30ml gin, 30ml Italian bitter aperitif and 30ml sweet red vermouth in a mixing glass with ice. Stir using controlled circular movements, then strain into a glass with fresh ice. Garnish with orange peel.

TEARDROP ANTIQUE vs. a Standard Bar Spoon

A shorter bar spoon may be sufficient for everyday drinking glasses. The 45cm TEARDROP model offers greater reach for deeper vessels and a distinctive antique brass appearance. If you need to crush fruit or herbs, choose a dedicated cocktail muddler instead.

Cleaning and Care

Wash by hand using water and mild detergent. Rinse, dry immediately and avoid abrasive sponges, harsh cleaning agents and prolonged exposure to moisture. These precautions help preserve the antique-style finish.
